Monday NHL Free play. My selection is on Washington over Ottawa at 7:05 pm et on Monday.

I can't help but feel the wrong team is favored in this matchup as the Capitals look to bounce back from Saturday's overtime loss in Florida. Washington has been playing well lately, collecting at least a point in four straight games to work its way back into the playoff hunt in the Eastern Conference (eight points back of the second wild card spot with four games-in-hand on the Lightning). The Senators are coming off consecutive wins but both of those came on home ice. They're just 10-15 on the road where they've allowed 3.5 goals per game this season. This is undoubtedly a game the Caps have had circled on their calendar after dropping a 6-1 decision in Ottawa back in October. The Sens have now won consecutive meetings in this series but haven't won three straight over the Caps since 2012-14 when they reeled off seven straight victories in this matchup. Note that Ottawa is just 5-9 (-5.6 net games) in its last 14 contests following consecutive home wins including a 1-3 mark in that situation this season. Meanwhile, Washington is 27-22 (+4.6 net games) in its last 49 contests following a one-goal loss. Take Washington.

1* FREE PLAY Oilers.

We bet totals. We bet dogs. We bet parlays at times. We bet everything. We also have no issues laying chalk on a side, especially when we feel that the team we're backing should/could in fact be a much larger fav. That'll be the case here with Edmonton, which will be desperate to snap a four-game slide. It plays with revenge as well after a 4-0 loss at LA back in early February, and note that the Oilers are 4-1 in their last five in trying to avenge a shutout road loss vs. an opponent. The Kings have won five of their last six. They're off a slim 3-2 shootout win over the Ducks, but here they get caught "looking ahead" to their difficult contest in Calgary tomorrow night; lay the price here when considering Edmonton!
